birthday girl!
October 12, 2010So sorry I’ve been MIA! It’s not for lack of creativity around this house, I promise! Lots of events and photos, just no time to edit and blog. We’ve also had lots of adjustments as we are getting used to full time school. The schedule definitely has pros and cons. Pros being that my house stays a bit tidier during the day, which means less clean-up for mommy…although in the scheme of having young children, I’m kinda sad that they aren’t home all day creating messes with all their creative play. Which leads me to the cons…my girlies aren’t home to make messes!!! I miss them terribly, however I take comfort in knowing that they have fantastic teachers this year, and are happy and enjoying school. Putting Mia on the bus is definitely the highlight of the day. I wonder if the excitement will wear off, but so far she continues to squeal every time the bus comes into site! It is such a joy to see her happy and independent! We also have had another birthday…they come too fast! It seems like last week that I blogged about Grace’s 7th birthday and all of a sudden she’s 8! Can someone please slow time down? I would be most appreciative…
OK back to business…Miss Grace requested a Little House on the Prairie theme birthday this year. At first thought, I had no idea how to pull that one off…but it didn’t take too long to gather ideas from the internet, and run with them! And how could I deny that idea, as I LOVE Little House! I think my girls love it as much as I did..we have so much fun watching it together(yes I own the complete series on DVD!!!)
So for the party, we did patchwork invitations sewn on my machine(to be blogged tomorrow, as I need to photograph them), tin cup favors filled with marbles and jacks, bonnets and aprons for the girls and cowboy hats and kerchiefs for the boys. I had so much fun buying the calico print fabric for the decor…such sweet prints and so young and girlie! I ended up with too much fabric and had the “brilliant” idea to make fabric pennants. Super cute, but soooo time consuming! For centerpieces, wildflower inspired arrangements in mason jars, and a simple white cake decorated with fresh flowers. For the activity, the girls made corn-cob dolls like the doll Laura has in the book “Little House in the Big Woods”. The dolls were more of a hit than I had anticipated, I am sorry I didn’t get any photographs of the girls creating them!
We held the party at a fantastic park that fit the theme perfectly. Split rail fences, an actual water pump, western saddles on faux horses and a rooster crowing in the distance…it was perfect and the kids had a great time! Enjoy the photos!

darling family {orange county family photographer}
August 26, 2010I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family last night! Mom emailed me this morning apologizing for the little man not being all smiles, as he ended up with an ear infection, poor baby. I honestly never would have known, as he was such a doll and gave me lots of smiles! Big sis was just adorable interacting with little brother, the whole family was truely a joy to photograph!!

Thanks for looking!

three months already! {orange county baby photographer}
August 25, 2010I can’t believe my little niece is already three months old! Wide eyed and smiling, she is a perfect little model, and put up with auntie and her camera! Hopefully she can continue to put up with all the squeezes I keep giving her!!

Thank you for stopping by!

double the fun! {orange county newborn photographer}
August 23, 2010I had the wonderful pleasure to photograph these precious twins! They are so beautiful…no surprise as their momma is gorgeous as well. Remember this maternity session!?!
Thank goodness grandma came along as well, it took three of us to juggle all the needs that two tiny babies could muster! I hope their momma enjoys the photos!
